Soucek: a useless, lumbering, beanpole. Why pick him?
Amid the wreckage of last night's drubbing, we could highlight a lot.

Point is, as horribly shit as most of our players performed, at least they served a purpose and attempted to fulfil it.

But sitting in the stands last night watching Soucek - what is the point of him?

I watched him for a period: he can't run. He can't pass. He can't even close down. He barely puts a tackle.

He made eight passes last night and squandered half of them. A centre midfielder.

Flynn Downes at least moves with some speed and recycles the ball. He's not Patrick Vierra - but, he's infinitely better than Soucek.

Please someone explain: Why does Moyes keep picking this useless, lumbering beanpole?

Last season he played more defensively so Rice could push forward.

This season Moyes has gone back to Soucek in an advanced role. Yet he doesn’t score goals.

Zero point him being in that position when he’s not scoring as he has such limited technique and passing ability.

Not sure how is keeping Fornals and Downes out the team.

It’s favouritism to an extreme level.

Scary to think we could still have Moyes as our manager next season with no Rice and Soucek still playing week in week out.

Fornals is a good point.

I don't even think he's that good, but he's so much better than Soucek.

Re: Soucek: a useless, lumbering, beanpole. Why pick him?
He offers absolutely nothing, it's like playing with 10 me from the off. Rice is good enough to cover his position and he is a waste of a player. We need someone like Lanzini, not afraid to get on the ball and buzz around the midfield, helping to set up and get the ball out wide etc
Soucek is a glorified Radoslav Kovac

I think it's worse than playing with 10 men, it's like playing against 12 men.

I can safely say, his form over the last year has been the worst of any first team regular outfield player I've ever seen. The collection of games this season, blimey, I don't think they've invented a word for it yet.

Hes like the Czech version of Nolan but without the 2 inch tap ins, chicken dance and iPad (later life)... both SHIT

Glad someone posted a thread on this

He's fucking useless, totally ineffective and a bleeding liability

If anything reflected the Moyes situation it's this cunt

Does the loss of form from what was one of our best players to someone who looks like they are playing with some kind of skeletal disability stem back to the time of negotiating his contract, which was some time ago?

His selection has become perverse.
Remember wondering after 20 mins .... has he touched the ball yet?
Spent the whole night being bypassed and shuffling around to zero effect.
With a Sunday-Wed-Sat schedule you'd think there would have been some freshening up of the team.
Not sure what Fornals and Lanzini have done but Moyes has completely blanked them. And Downes gets a run out when the game is done.
Lanzini hasnt started a League match since the opening day & Fornals last League start was mid January.
Our form is shit and its the same old same old every match.
Try SOMETHING FFS

Re: Soucek: a useless, lumbering, beanpole. Why pick him?
I don't know how you'd find out the STATS, but has any regular stating central midfielder in the Premier League ever had worse passing stats than Soucek?

Am I right in thinking over the last 10 games, he's averaged about 10 completed passes a game?

It's fucking hilarious when you take away the exasperation of it all.

Re: Soucek: a useless, lumbering, beanpole. Why pick him?
Picking him last night after sunday is a sackable offence. Moyes has clearly lost the fucking plot, Soucek isnt far behind him

He cant tackle, cant run and when we get the ball he runs up front to be a no 9. If the ball does find him his first touch goes up in the air or he turns into trouble

Needs to be taken out the team for our sakes and his own. I am not sure there is a worse player in the whole league at the moment

60,000 people can see it apart from that fucking retarded gimp dildo dwarf

Eerie

Interestingly saw the other day stats for midfielders in premier league.

We have a player that never plays and has one of the best ball retention and pass completion rates in the league.

That’s Lanzini.

Re: Soucek: a useless, lumbering, beanpole. Why pick him?
There was a thread about players ‘data’ not too long ago and it being mentioned this can be used to ‘help’ Moyes in his selection process.

Seems Soucek is exempt from this, and this doesn’t extend to the manager either, his ‘data’ is not yielding a good output either.

Re: Soucek: a useless, lumbering, beanpole. Why pick him?
Moyes is apparently very interested in training data, and you can well imagine that Soucek does okay there. It's literally the only possible reason I can think of why he'd get a starting place ahead of anyone else at all.

If ur job was on the line, Soucek would not be the man to rely on to get you out of trouble. Thankfully, Moyes job isn't on the line 🤬

the worst midfielder in the league, under the worst manager in the league, playing in the worst stadium in the league.

All works very nicely

it's not even like he's making countless mistakes, he's just anonymous.
he doesnt seem to be able to get anywhere near the ball.

Too be fair when he was getting all those 1 yard nod ins and 6 inch tap in’s he was still not all that… I mean you wouldn’t pay good money to go and see him play even when he was getting the goals… an abysmal footballer… just a bloke who put it about a bit and was in the right place from a yard out… just another Chicken dancing Kevin Nolan... both awful footballers
